By tapping in to America’s bounty, the 600-mile Atlantic Coast Pipeline from the heart of West Virginia will pump non-toxic, invisible and odorless natural gas safely from the Mountain State through Virginia and into North Carolina.
The pipeline also will pump up the region with $2.7 billion in economy activity that will flood West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina with more than 17,200 construction jobs and 2,200 manufacturing jobs. That near-miraculous economic stimulation and job-growth will make West Virginia (and the region) look like almost heaven to working families.
The free-flowing artery also will help fuel America’s drive for energy independence while helping to reduce the flow of toxic foreign fuel from oily dictatorships and monarchies that are dangerous, unstable or openly hostile to America.
There is resistance, of course, led by tree-hugging Debbie Downers, who seem genetically wired to resist all forms of human progress, want to cut off the flow of prosperity by courting activist judges to leave West Virginians and other East Coasters high and dry.
On November 7, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals stayed a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permit allowing developers to cross waters of West Virginia in Pocahontas and Randolph counties in response to the inane nagging from radical Earth-first groups.
Would that they cared as much about struggling Appalachian families just trying to survive. “There is no right way to build dirty, dangerous fossil fuel projects like this and we will continue to fight this pipeline until it’s stopped once and for all,” said Kelly Martin, Sierra Club Beyond Dirty Fuels campaign director. By resisting everything, green groups get greenbacks from billionaire donors who don’t want energy companies to make one red cent. It’s an ill wind that blows no good.
To hyper-leftists, any form of energy below topsoil is dirty. How many bird-blender windmills must Americans put up with to replace gas, oil, coal and uranium? And yet, most of the world, including the United States, largely is dependent on natural energy (“fossil fuels”) to power mankind’s advancement.
Without cheap, reliable fuel sources, and low-tech, low-cost solutions such as the Atlantic Coast Pipeline to bring it to us, society still would be in the Dark Ages.
The Atlantic Coast Pipeline is projected to save $377 million per year in energy costs, while generating $28 million per year in tax revenue for local governments. Win/Win!
In 2008, the United States imported 1.5 billion barrels of oil by handing over $150 billion to “dangerous” and “unstable” countries, according to the Center for American Progress. By reducing dependence on foreign fuels, the proposed pipeline will be like a Howitzer aimed at the heart of America’s geo-political enemies.
President Donald Trump places such a high emphasis on the Atlantic Coast Pipeline for national security that he added it to a list of his national infrastructure priorities. Trump never tires of winning!
The pipeline also is the safest way of bring energy to everyone. Based on a safety study of the shipment of fossil fuels, transporting by truck is more than 34 times as dangerous as a pipeline. Transporting by train is almost four times as likely to result in an incident.
The Atlantic Coast Pipeline will fuel an increase of good-paying jobs, decreased energy costs, increased transportation safety, decreased transportation emissions and increased energy independence.
America must tap into its cheap and secure sources of life-giving, natural energy. The Atlantic Coast Pipeline will fuel miracles.
